Located in the picturesque suburb of Chisinau – Durlesti, the bath complex “Voloshin Banya” has become an outstanding example of integration of modern architecture into the natural landscape of Moldova.
Conceptually, the architecture of the bathhouse is inspired by mythology and folklore, the artistic design refers to the motifs of hobbit houses, fairy-tale world and nature. Each element of the building symbolizes the unity of man with the natural environment. The concept of the entire project is based on the principles of sustainability: the complete placement of the building under the hill is protective and ensures a perfectly stable microclimate thanks to the natural thermal insulation of the ground.
The project has won numerous international awards, including the Platinum Award in the Sustainable Green Architecture category and the Gold Award in the Hospitality and Hotel Design category of the International Architecture & Design Awards competition
