Eco-architecture: Underground Hotel on a Slope

  • project type tourist complex
  • stage construction
  • year 2025

About the project

This complex, situated on the high bank of the Dniester River, offers a fresh perspective on the popular “riverside house” holiday format. Our task was to design a resort on a very challenging site with an elevation difference of 16 meters.

We moved away from standard cottages. Here, every suite is a cozy underground house tucked into the hill so as not to disrupt the natural landscape. We planted a vineyard on the restaurant’s roof—a perfect example of a functional, exploited roof. This is true organic architecture.

The houses cascade down to the water in terraces. Each hillside home we designed is hidden from neighbors and features massive panoramic glazing. We took the fairytale Hobbit house as our basis, transforming the project into something modern and stylish, free of unnecessary details.

Inside, we utilized biophilic design: there are no sharp corners, only smooth, natural lines that provide a sense of peace. These are unique house designs united into a single resort. The entire territory represents modern eco-architecture that has seamlessly become part of the living nature.

The LH47 ARCH team: people who live their craft

The LH47 ARCH team is made up of architects, engineers, and designers for whom the profession long stopped being just a job. Behind every project they see not a form or a façade, but a person: how they will live in this space, what scenarios will unfold there over time. This kind of view cannot be imitated — it grows only out of a genuine love for the work.
