Large-scale winery renovation project: transforming a closed production facility into a modern tourism cluster. Applying the principles of landscape urbanism, our primary objective was the delicate integration of new functions into the existing environment.
We moved away from the utilitarian image of warehouses. New architectural solutions allowed us to replace dull sandwich panels with complex metal frames that mimic rolling hills. By utilizing vertical greenery with live vines, we achieved a result where the architecture literally dissolves into the landscape. This is bionic architecture in its purest form — a symbiosis of structure and nature.
The conceptual heart of the complex is a “volume-within-a-volume” restaurant. We implemented panoramic glazing, integrating a transparent space directly into the storage hall. Guests can observe the wine aging process — an immersive experience where the interior design echoes the production technology.
While developing the landscape project, we positioned the tourism infrastructure at the highest point of the terrain (15 “hobbit-style” houses). This ensures both vineyard views and privacy. The scenario is complemented by a wine SPA complex.
The landscape architecture of the historical zone plays a vital role. We carefully restored the old house and completed the site landscaping, preserving the central “Alley of Ancestors.” Logistics have been reimagined: visitor routes are separated for maximum comfort.
This project exemplifies how comprehensive site improvement changes the perception of a place. Through the creation of artificial relief, we transformed an industrial zone into a world-class agritourism destination.
