Modern French Classic Café Interior

This café was built around an idea that is difficult to pull off – creating a public space where people want to stay. Not because it looks good, but because it feels right. Neoclassicism here is not about grandeur. It is about proportion: the right scale, warm natural materials, nothing unnecessary.

The foundation is light timber and pastel green. Together they work as a background that doesn’t overwhelm. Details appear within it: mirrors, chandeliers, living plants. Each element carries a function – to reflect light, to mark rhythm, to bring life. Decor here is not ornament. It is part of the spatial architecture.

The zones are designed for different scenarios. A long communal table for groups and chance neighbours. Window seats for those who came alone or in pairs. A bar for those who don’t stay long. Three scenarios in one space, and none of them interferes with the others.

The arched windows do most of the lighting work. Daylight is soft and diffused – it shifts through the day and shifts the feeling of the space along with it. The chandeliers pick up that logic in the evening. The result is a place that looks different in the morning and at night, and both versions work.
